De alguma maneira.
The funny thing is, no one’s really hiding the secret of how to make awesome online communities. Give people something cool to do and a way to talk to each other, moderate a little bit, and your job is done. Games like Eve Online or WoW have developed entire economies on top of what’s basically a message board… And maybe the purest (!) example is 4chan, a Lord of the Flies community that invents all the stuff you end up sharing elsewhere: image macros, copypasta, rage comics, the lolrus. The data model for 4chan is three fields long - image, timestamp, text.
Now tell me one bit of original culture that’s ever come out of Facebook.
Uptime monitoring service Pingdom analyzed the top 10,000 websites on the web and unsurprisingly found out that 74.6% of them are served on web servers run by open source software. (via 75% of Top 10K Sites on the Web Served by Open Source Software)

If a technological feat is possible, man will do it. Almost as if it’s wired into the core of our being.
That time in *Lisbon* when I met the one that wasn’t the one. Share a memory from a place you’ve been.
O povo português, esse povinho que outrora era a maior potência do mundo, já não o é, como já podem ter verificado.

Mentalidade: A mentalidade portuguesa é a…
Fixe.
It’s time to officially welcome Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese to Tumblr’s roster of supported languages!
This now makes Tumblr accessible in a total of 11 different languages. To celebrate in Brazil, we’ll be holding official Tumblr meetups/events in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. And in Portugal, we’re teaming up with Vice in Lisbon to celebrate the Portuguese launches. Join us!
To turn on these new localized interfaces on Tumblr, head over to your Preferences page to switch your language settings. And be sure to follow Tumblr’s official Portuguese and Brazilian Staff Blogs, too.

I’d rather be in *Sydney* drinking mojitos. Where would you rather be?

The neverending beer.
